No colour pictures Just wanted to say, Ive just received my copy of this in paperback and haven’t had time to read it but I was a bit disappointed that the whole book is in black and white, there are no colour pictures. From the product page it looks like its all colour and as Japan seems such a colourful country its a shame its all black and white. It also makes the maps a bit hard to read as you can’t see the colours used to show different lines, areas etc.
Very practical and concise This is a great book! Very down to earth, concise and full of practical information. I initially bought a full Japan guidebook but quickly realised that it will take me a very long time to read through it and decide what I want to see. This book made the task much easier. Definitely recommended!
No structure and nothing beyond the common destinations This is a really awful book. It has no real structure and it does not go to any real hidden gems other than the common sites. I had expected that this would be far better and cool and it’s exactly the opposite. Save your money, it’s awful
