Accurate title, and a good starting point If you know next to nothing about English law, this is the place to start. I know some law but this book succeeded in filling the gaps in my knowledge. The writing style is very accessible and the examples used (often landmark cases) are clearly explained. The book is fairly up to date and covers the EU referendum result of 2016 but does not go much further (if it did that chapter could well b called “How long is a piece of string?).It’s probably a decent primer for someone…

Really good introduction with clear, understandable language Recently finished this book and I really liked it. I bought it because I’ve been interested in law for a while and this book really provides a basic introduction without the author slipping into technical jargon a few pages in. I’d definitely recommend it and I’m thinking of getting an A level book to further my understanding.

Excellent Easy to read and it’s really for beginners. My knowledge of Law is none because I’m Brazilian and the English system is absolutely different from here. In the very beginning you can feel that the book was made to help you understand the basics of the system. Very useful. I couldn’t stop reading.
