Amazing, terrifying book I am a woman in my sixties, not the usual readership for a book about football hooligans but I found this book utterly compelling. I’m sure if you had looked at my face when I was reading it my eyes would have been wide open and my jaw dropped, such are the events related. If you have any interest at all in football, Italy or the psychology of crowds, I recommend this. The only negative point I would make is that I would have found an index useful.
A great read. For anyone – though not exclusively – of a certain age with a love of football from the 70’s and through the subsequent decades and the sun-culture of fans, this book is a must read.Probably the most honest book on the subject I have read in a very long time.
