You will need this book! Love this book. I’m a newbie to project managing a build so it’s been invaluable at trying to see if I’m getting ripped off, what all the builders jargon is (so I don’t look like that newbie). All builders and architects have their own ways and opinions but having this…

Let’s put this in perspective.. for me not for all Ok so I was recommended this book. What i wanted was a more technical book so that as I built in knew simple things like what height the Dom should be, what mix concrete to use for the foundation, should the ceiling vapour barrier on a flat roof go under the plasterboard or above the insulation? What size beams should I use in the ceiling and Flor? …. well in answered none of these! It’s not a bad book but it’s not designed to let you challenge your builders if they gat technical stuff…

Bargain basement edition Just received my copy of this book and hadn’t read the 1 star reviews before buying as I had a previous edition and know that this is a great book. However…..oh dear, what a drop in publishing quality! Bargain basement feel and some of the print looks as though it was done on a dot matrix printer from the 1980’s. What a let down – price should be £9.99 for this edition. Unfair of people to give it one star though – I dropped mine to 3 from what would have been a 4 or maybe 5.
