the breakfasts are banging. Whitespace is not your friend. More passion in the recipes would be nice. More description, why what when in the recipe not the forward. This is Hawksmoor at home! Make it feel that way. Too much focus on the style and image of the book. While cool, still leaves more to be desired.. Maybe that leads into the second book.Ordering the next book, I love the food too much not to.. We’ll see.The grammar/spelling mistakes are a little off putting. Seems no one read the book…

Much more than a recipe book What I really liked most about this book is that it wasn’t just a collection of recipes; it was a book about tradition and excellence in meat cooking, and while the recipes work, and work very well, what you really get out of it is a good understanding of what makes for good meat and what is needed to cook it well. It might be verging on the nerdy at times, but if you really enjoy your cooking, this is a a book you’d happily sit with for a couple of hours. I wish more recipes book took this…

So much more than a recipe collection. The best food book I have ever read… so much more than just a collection of recipes. Entertaining, full of wonderful history, warmth and yes superb recipes, techniques and advice on choosing ingredients.
