Entertaining Read I read this when I was younger and loved it so much that I wanted to read it again. It’s a great read and an enjoyable story. North Child is a retelling of East of the Sun, West of the Moon and the author does it well but the characters could have been a little better developed.
Wonderfully imaginative story North Child tells a beautiful story of how a family struggles to stay together in the face of adversity. This hugely enjoyable story tells us how Rose, the fiesty central character of the book, deals with her forced independence, and her struggle between family loyalty and the thirst for adventure.We encounter trolls, bears, superstition and magic which is woven in and out of the story of each character. Wonderful book! I ordered this book from a recommendation by a friend and was absolutely spellbound. I would pick it up and read it whenever I got a moment, as it has such a wonderful pace and I couldn’t wait to see what happened next.
