Astonishing biography of an enchanting little bird This must be THE authoritative book about the wren. The research is astonishing, not only for its wealth of facts but for the details of legends and poems from the ancient world to the present day. I love the wren even more since reading Stephen Moss’s beautiful affectionate writing. The illustrations are lovely too.
a really worthwhile read Excellent. Full of interesting facts and details. I think I enjoyed this book even more than I enjoyed Moss’ book about the robin – and that was really good! Stephen Moss is a top naturalist and birder, and a very observant writer. More, please!
