New perspectives in crafted prose Superb. I appreciated the new perspectives on a familiar subject, the depth of research and clarity of writing. Very well-organised and without falling into the channels created by previous noted writers on Hitler. Ullrich purposefully avoids the sensational and speculative rumours and stays on steady ground. Negative criticism is implied in the unfolding narrative rather than stated categorically.A great read.

Five Stars Best biography of Hitler I’ve read; assembles all the latest research and has a German perspective.

I don’t read history books but I love to know how people ‘tick’ I don’t read history books but I love to know how people ‘tick’. This book did that, it gave an incite into Hitler’s earlier life and how the man was formed and the circumstances in which he came to power.
