A key text for improvers This useful handbook – mainly technique directed – takes the reader fairly gently from the basics of camera handling to quite advanced bits, such as what using a polarising filter may do to a rainbow. All of the basics are well covered, and in a way which will either support class students or, with a little more concentration, guide a self-taught improver. I have used the Cambridge in Colour website for both purposes for several years and this book is a fine complement. Do not expect to learn…
Wonderful book for beginners and enthusiast photographers Understanding Photography is an absolutely beautiful book, very well crafted, it covers fundamental and advanced photographic techniques. A great introduction for new photographers but also very useful for more experienced photographers wanting to explore new fields. For example, having mostly shoot landscapes and street/documentary, I found the portrait lighting section extremely useful. A complete photography manual for new starters and a reference guide for advanced photographers too…
Understanding Photography The book is mainly ahead of beginners and maybe somewhat advanced for intermediates. Having said that, the book is full of advice and tips to suit all levels of photography. Great book H/Recommended.
