A Stunning Masterpiece! As an avid fan of Studio Ghibli, I couldn’t pass up the chance to buy this book (or should I call it a masterpiece). For starters, the graphics is set out stunningly and the quality of the actual printing is immensely detailed. It’s as if Miyazaki drew them onto the page himself! I may seem a bit biased as this anime movie is an ultimate favourite of mine, however, friends who are not have mentioned how beautiful it was.The quality will last ages, I can even pass it down…

If you’re a fan you might like it, but as an artist or animator you may think twice Big fan of Miyazaki, but for art of books, not the greatest. Most of the they art are stills of the finished product, from the movie. There is very little of the behind the seens development art, approx 15%. So I was a little disappointed. I collect art of books from Anime, gaming and Disney etc and unfortunately I don’t think it was particularly my best choice of art books. I also purchased Princess Mononoke. Loved both movies so very much but oh well it is what is.

Hardback with crisp colourful pages Beautiful hardback book. The pages are glossy and thick. I also didn’t know it had the script for the film at the back! That was a nice surprise. It doesn’t give too much detail of the making of, as the book it made up of clips from the film with a descriptuon underneath, but there are some storyboard drawings in there too. I wouldn’t recommend if you’re wanting more info for the making of. But I’d definitely recommend as a gift for any Ghibli fan and as beautiful well presented book
