Covers all the basics These drawing guides by Mark Bergin are very popular with my family, we have acquired many of them over the years. The simple step-by-step instructions are easy to follow, this book seems to cover all the elements of starting out to draw a portrait. The pages on drawing children are especially useful as are the pages on drawing self portraits, a useful way to practice when no one is prepared to model.

Good guide for novices. Nice exercises well explained for novices and those out of practice. I’m still working my way through the book but from the first couple of exercises completed I’m really happy with the results and rekindled my desire to drawer again.

Not what I was expecting Book thinner than I expected and really does look as if someone has scribbled all over it ,I guess it is the authors style but for me not great value
