Brilliant book for freeing the mind artistically I was looking for a structured journal of sorts to jump start m creativity and this one is great. Packed with small tasks to get you going, some of which are very simple, others you can choose to make more intricate. You actually do all the work IN the book itself which is what I wanted and found wasn’t the case with some other “creativity journals. I found just making myself do what seemed over simplistic little tasks quickly got my mind working in an almost unobtrusive way. I put a lot of pressure on myself artistically and had got to a point where I’d stopped doing anything for fear of it not being “good” enough. Within two days of forcing myself to do an exercise, I was so enthused I was jumping ahead and doing two or three at a time. As some have said, strong felt pens will show through the page but I personally find the book of good quality and very well presented. It’s helped me enjoy just making shapes and using colour and experimenting with various media, rather than feeling…

Only for beginners / amateurs I bought this book for my son’s birthday. He has a degree in architecture and diplomas from art schools. However he has had health problems (a recent breakdown) and I thought the discipline of having to do something every day would help him get back into the groove. However I have obviously misunderstood this book. I don’t know who it’s aimed at – colouring, tracing etc. It’s too sophisticated for children but too simplistic for anyone who has any artistic skills in my opinion.

Wonderful Book I’m so impressed with this book! I bought it as a gift for somebody who is incredibly creative but needs help getting everything flowing. I think this will do wonders! I’m also going to buy another copy for myself!
